Holiday Gift Guide: Horse Trainer

Horse trainers wear a lot of hats, besides just training your horse they serve as friends, emotional support, horse whisperers, vets, grooms and therapists. Quite frankly none of us or our horses would be where we are without them and this time of year they deserve a lot of gratitude and a little spoiling. Show your gratitude and treat them to something nice this holiday season. I have wrangled up a few of my favorite things that I think any trainer would love to see under the tree this year. Many of these items can be for men or women.

  1. Bose Audio Sunglasses: I got these for my husband for Valentine’s Day and he loved them! I even got a pair for myself after borrowing his. They have bluetooth Bose speakers in the arms of the sunglasses so you can listen to music, podcasts or take phone calls without having to have your phone weighing down your pockets. Your trainer will enjoy the eye protection as well as the speakers while outside working horses. $169

  2. Indie Lee I-Recover Body Soak: A day spent riding and breaking young horses can be hard on the body and this bath soak and salt scrub will help ease all aches and pains. Pair with a great bottle of wine and you have the perfect gift. $42

  3. Patagona R1 Fleece Pullover: A day spent in the barn requires you to dress in layers and this is my favorite lightweight fleece layer. It is super lightweight yet provides the perfect warmth by itself on cool days or layered under a coat on cold frosty days. It is sleek and professional looking too. Available for men and women. $129

  4. Battery Heated Gloves: I got these for Christmas last year and used them all winter long. Your trainer will thank you for these when they are standing outside giving lessons in the cold and their hands are warm and toasty. $179

  5. Neck Massager: This neck massager is heaven sent and your trainer will love using it after a long day spent in the barn. It eases sore muscles and soothes with heat. You can also use it on your back, shoulders and legs. $50.99

  6. Bogs Boots: Spoil your favorite trainer with my favorite outdoor boots. These slip on and off easily and will keep their feet warm and dry while doing barn chores and lessons. Plus they can be worn away from the farm too! Women’s Amanda Plush Slip On Boots $90 Men’s Sauvie Slip On Boots $95

  7. Gift Card: This is a good one if you want to go in with others that ride in the same barn, everyone can contribute whatever dollar amount they want and then pool the money and buy a gift card to your trainer’s favorite tack store or give them a gift card to order a new pair of custom boots or custom cowboy hat. We did this a few years ago and gave my trainer a gift card so he could order a new pair of western show chaps.
