Holiday Gift Guide: Your Horse

Holiday Gift Guide: Your Horse

Our list of to-dos and to-buys is often long this time of year but don’t forget to spoil your horse (or yourself by proxy) this holiday season. These make great gifts for your horse, yourself or any horse person on your shopping list. Here is what I am getting my horse for Christmas and what I have added to my Santa wish list:

  1. Won Original Series Flex Vent Saddle Pad: My horse trainer uses these pads under show pads and after riding in one I am convinced I (ahem, I mean my horse) needs one too. This super soft, squishy yet durable pad is made of high quality, shock absorbing felt, heavy duty wear leathers, and scuba grade neoprene. The neoprene keeps the saddle in place and from slipping as well as providing an even sweat and lubrication between the pad and the horse. It’s venting helps provide cooling and it is easy to clean and dries quickly.

  2. Equine Confections Cookies: These are my favorite horse cookies. They always have fun, seasonal designs and they smell amazing. Their Christmas cookie designs are especially cute this season and their Ringside Bites are a year round favorite. My horses gobble them up and look for seconds.

  3. Spirit Horse Collective Equine Energetic Body Scan: I follow Molly on instagram and am so intrigued by what she does and have been wanting to set up a remote session for some time. The Energetic Body Scan dives into your horse’s spiritual, emotional and physical energetic bodies and help find imbalances. We so often wish our horses could talk and this is one small way that they can actually “talk” to us. Molly also does a lot of work with crystals and I would love to learn how to incorporate them with my horses (I use them in my non-horse life).

  4. Mega Ball Horse Toy: I have seen so many funny videos of horses playing with these giant horse balls and am curious to see if my horses will actually play with it or be terrified of it. I think once they get over their spookiness they will love chasing it around. And if my horses don’t, my donkeys will!

  5. Joey Jemison Headstall: Joey Jemison has some of the most beautiful leather tooling and their headstalls show it off so well. I bought Garrett one of these for Christmas a few years ago and I find myself borrowing it too much not to get myself one too. The question is which one, there are so many gorgeous styles to choose from.

  6. Haas Horse Brushes: These are definitely an investment but so worth it for something that you use everyday. These amazing brushes come in a variety of styles that are designed to make your horse sparkle like a diamond. They are incredibly well made and you can see a difference after using them.

  7. Schneiders Monogrammed Sheet: I already have this one wrapped and under the tree for Tiger. I love Schneiders sheets and you can order them monogrammed straight from their website. I got the new Royal color and it is so pretty, a bright, rich, deep blue.

  8. Show Saddle Pad: I can fully admit this one is purely for me! I love show saddle pads and have quite the collection but I always want to add new colors. Erin Rhea Show Pads, EM Custom Pads, Bentley Show Pads, Prickly Pear Customs and Saguaro Show Pads are my favorite vendors.

  9. Back On Track Airflow Exercise Boots: I am a huge fan of Back On Track and have even used their products myself. I was excited to see these new exercise boots that are lined with their Welltex fabric and shock and pressure absorbing foam that combine to give extra support and absorb impact. They also have Airtech technology for breathability and heat/moisture management.

Anyone else feel this??!!

Also, I want to give credit to the amazing photographer, Rachel Griffin Photography, that captured the fun picture of Scout wrapped in Christmas lights. Give her a follow on Instagram @rachelgriffin_photography to have her gorgeous pics appear in your feed.
