Drink Up (Product Review: Gallagher's Water)

One of my dream jobs is to be the water girl for my favorite football team, the Denver Broncos. I am sure you have seen them on the sidelines, running out during half-time to squirt electrolyte water into the players mouths. Silly, but I think it would be a blast to be so close to my favorite players and know I am playing a small part in keeping them in peak condition. Sadly as I am not a water girl for any pro sports team, I am kind of a water girl for my own athletes. And by athletes, I mean my own horses, who actually resemble my favorite team's mascot, so in a way I get to live out my dream job.

Since our horses are athletes, it is so important during the summer months to keep them drinking and replenish what is lost during heavy sweating sessions. I am always on the lookout for products that help keep them hydrated and replenished (big fan of Equine Elixirs Electrolyte Gummies) and was excited when I saw Gallagher’s Water.

Straight Up, Neat, or On The Rocks, Shooter takes Gallagher’s Water Equine Beverage any way he can get it.

Gallagher’s Water is an all-natural equine hydration beverage that comes in easy to use pouches. This alfalfa flavored powder mixes with water (2 gallons to be exact) to create a super enticing drink. Gallagher’s Water is made up of a little bit of sugar, alfalfa, salt and electrolytes. It is essentially Gatorade for horses, minus the yucky chemicals, food dyes and way too much sugar that Gatorade uses.

Worried about the sugar in Gallagher’s Water? Have no fear, the sugar used is so minimal that it only takes up 2% of your horse’s daily sugar intake.

It is safe to give your horse every day to entice them to drink or replenish them after riding or showing. You just empty one pouch into a water bucket and then mix with 2 gallons of water. The single serve pouches are so easy to throw in your barn bag and take with you.

Do the horses like it and want to drink it? Yes! All four of my horses slurped it down immediately and finished the bucket and kept looking for more. Even the pickiest of my horses drank it up. I even took it to our last show (that was very warm and humid) and made sure Tiger drank a bucket after each of my classes.

Needless to say, I am a huge fan of this product! It is easy to use, encourages horses to drink, replenishes electrolytes, easy to take along to shows and the horses love it. I definitely recommend it to anyone riding and showing this summer or to anyone who has a horse that isn’t a very good drinker. You can purchase it online from SmartPak and Gallagher’s Water.
